Crystal Seas Adventures offers more over and underwater adventures than any other company! There are many opportunities for water enthusiasts and history buffs to enjoy while visiting Salt Cay. Tim Dunn is the local “historian” and Salt Cay resident whose love and knowledge of the Turks and Caicos Islands is well known. Over the years, Tim has been honored to provide the historical perspective at island symposiums, meetings and in promotional videos. You may have seen him on tape at The Salt House in Grand Turk, speaking about the history of the Salt Industry and the importance of Salt Cay in the days of the Revolutionary War.

When you take an island excursion with Tim, you benefit from his vast knowledge and expertise on the environs. He has an incredible memory for dates, facts and little known trivia about the salt industry, the islands in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, and specifically life on Salt Cay from the time of the original settlers. Many people have suggested he write a book or keep a journal so that much of the lore is not lost, but spending a day trip or a three-hour tour will find you filling up on stories, anecdotes and historical information that is interesting and fun. As Tim will tell you, when you ask him questions either he “knows the answers or will do a good job of making one up”.

Each trip is limited to a maximum of 6 guests, so booking in advance assures that you do not miss out on a special excursion or trip.

Historical Adventure in Grand Turk | $100 per person

Take a historical tour of The Turks and Caicos’ Capitol, Grand Turk. This tour can be customized but will likely include: The National Museum, Historic Middle, Duke and Front Streets, and the 1854 Lighthouse. Enjoy lunch at one of the many fine restaurants.
